Professional Activities

Place of work: Institute of Transport Economics

I have been working at the Institute of Transport Economics throughout my career. I was appointed chief research officer in 1994. I have been involved in the preparation of all three editions of the Traffic Safety Handbook, published in 1982, 1989, and 1997. From 2001 this book will be available in Norwegian from the homepage of my Institute. In recent years, my main research interests have been in the areas of meta-analysis, cost-benefit analysis and road safety policy. I have been associate editor of Accident Analysis and Prevention since 1997.
